Will a redesign hurt my Google rankings?
It shouldn’t if it’s done properly — that’s the single biggest risk in a redesign and the thing we’re most careful about. We 301-redirect every old URL to protect your rankings. We map each one to its new page, keep your page structure and content intact, and preserve your schema. Nobody can promise rankings, but a faster, cleaner site gives you a better footing.
How much does a website redesign cost in the UK?
A redesign of up to 5 pages goes on our Starter Website plan: £49.99 a month with £0 upfront (12-month minimum, yours after 24 months), or £995 if you pay once. Bigger redesigns, with more pages or e-commerce, start from £2,500 with a fixed quote. No VAT to add. Hand On Web is not VAT-registered. There’s no hourly billing and no surprise extras: you get the price and the launch date before we start.

We aim to have a redesign of up to 5 pages live within 14 days. Bigger sites take 3-5 weeks. The pace depends mainly on how quickly you can review designs and get us any new content — we move as fast as you do.
Can you keep my existing content and just modernise the design?
Absolutely. A redesign doesn’t have to mean starting from scratch. We can keep your wording, photos and structure where they work, and focus the effort on speed, mobile experience, clearer calls-to-action and a fresh look.
Do I have to move my domain or hosting?
No. You keep your existing domain. On the Starter Website plan, hosting is included in the £49.99 a month. If you buy the redesign outright, you choose where it’s hosted, or we host and look after it for £49/month.
What if I’m on WordPress, Wix or Squarespace?
We redesign sites built on all of them. We’ll advise honestly whether it’s best to modernise on your current platform or rebuild on a faster one like Next.js — based on your needs, not ours.
Will I be able to update the new site myself?
Yes. We build with a friendly content setup and give you a short walkthrough, so changing text, swapping images or adding a page doesn’t mean waiting on a developer.
